I have had a pair of Sundowners for 20 years. Finally, the sole came off. Reading many reviews you will hear complaints of the change in quality and the move from manufacturing in Italy, to China, to Vientnam. Now I never had the original Italian versions, and I would suspect few people have, but the Chinese versions lasted over 20 years. My initial impression of these is that the quality of the upper is better than my previous version. The sole is yet to be seen. I actually prefer the feel of these right out of the box, but they don't seem quite as bomber as my previous version. That being said, it's stupid to think a pair of boots should last 20 years. These look and feel awesome. I'm very happy with my purchase.
