EH: Electrical Hazard protective sole and heel. The
sole construction of this footwear is designed to reduce hazards due
to contact of the outsole with electrically energized parts. It
provides a secondary source of protection on substantially insulated
surfaces. EH designates footwear that is designed to withstand
14, 000 volts (rms) at 60Hz for one minute with no current flow or leakage
in excess of 3.0 milliampreres (mA) under dry conditions. WARNING; EH
non-conductive footwear is not to be worn near explosives or in other
environments requiring Conductive footwear.
Waterproof
Leather: Describes leather that has been tanned and treated
so that water cannot penetrate and the foot is kept dry under all conditions. |
