Farm-Way and Vermont Gear have pledged over $400,000 in solar panels to “ Gro Solar” company in White River Jct Vermont. We will be generating approximately 60 KW of power, which is equivalent to 43% of our electrical power consumption.
We are extremely excited about this venture, and are hoping to commence construction of this system by fall of this year , providing all steps to this undertaking are passable . It is scheduled to be constructed in our adjacent field .
Environmentally our system will allow our local electrical service to avoid 76,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year , which is equivalent to 11 passenger cars for a year or annually planting over 1500 tree seedlings and growing them for 10 years. Also will be the reductions from the utility power annually of NOX @ 84 pounds and sulfur dioxide @200 pounds.
We will be monitoring via a public video monitor at our entryway and also linking our web site to the data and output information in real time, as it happens. The screen will provide continually updated views of the systems output and easily understood information on the benefits of solar.
